Now, Moto G6 Plus starts receiving Android Pie update in India. Lenovo owned Motorola launched its G6 Plus smartphone in India in September 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The update is likely to shortly begin rolling out in batches and will be notified through a push notification.
The official Motorola changelog shows that the latest update for the Moto G6 Plus brings all the core features of Android Pie.
The update will add a host of Android 9.0 Pie features. Additionally, the Android Pie update for the Moto G6 Plus will also bring the December 2018 Android security patch. The Android 9.0 Pie update will add on features like Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, new emojis, redesigned settings app, security enhancements, notification UI changes, performance improvements, and much more.
It is also expected to include the navigation-based navigation system, which debuted on the Google Pixel models initially.
In order to get the latest update, users can go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Motorola also suggests its users have at least 50% battery charge left on their Moto G6 Plus before installing the update and the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
The highlight of Moto G6 Plus includes dual-rear camera setup, water-repellent nano-coating, and 3,200mAh battery with TurboPower 15w fast charging. Upfront, the Motorola Moto G6 Plus flaunts a 5.9-inch FHD+ 18:9 IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 630 14nm SoC with Adreno 508 GPU.
The Moto G6 Plus is following the Moto X4 and Motorola One Power for the Android Pie update. Both these phones received the latest firmware from Lenovo recently. The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play are also in line to get the Android Pie update soon.
