Console vs Keyboard which one is best for gaming?

Today, in this article, we are going to discuss one of the best argument that is - Console vs Keyboard which one is best for gaming. There is a great divide amongst gamers when it comes to console vs Keyboard. The companies brought together console gamers to play PC gamers at the same time to test this system. But the truth is the PC gamers crushed the console gamers every time. As you can imagine, this would’ve been devastating to the Xbox, and the project was quickly dropped. Sure, consoles are cool, but there's nothing like PC gaming. So, let's find out what are differences between Keyboard and Console?

What is a keyboard?

A computer keyboard is one of the primary input devices used with a computer that's similar to electric typewriters, but with some additional keys. It allows you to input letters, numbers, and other symbols into a computer that can serve as commands or be used to type text.

What is a game controller or console?

A game controller is a device that used with games or entertainment systems to provide input to a video game, typically to control an object or character in the game. A controller is a type of game controller held in two hands, where the fingers especially thumbs are used to provide input. They are the main input device for video game consoles.

Differences between Console and Keyboard

  • The mouse is much more precise and a faster way to pinpoint a target than a controller stick.

  • A console will be ergonomic, handy and easy to use. However, it can't be customised to a very high level.

  • Keyboard/Mouse has tons of programmable keys to make your gaming easier. However, you can't get the precision in moving when playing, as a controller has two joysticks, and on the other side, we've one mouse.

  • It depends on what you are comfortable to play with. If you are playing a shooter like Call of Duty or Battlefield, keyboard and mouse is better. In the case of sport simulation games like FIFA or Cricket games, Game-pad is better.

  • In case of racing games, Game-pads are no doubt always better than keyboard and mouse.

  • In case of open world games like GTA and Saints Row, keyboard and mouse are better.

  • Keyboard has more keys and is more flexible. Besides Gamepad is more of an Arcade game's thing.

  • Keybinds or hotkeys are where the keyboard really shines in video games. These keys are most comfortable to use as action keys when gaming.

  • The keys are convenient and located in a way that the hand can strike each key with little movement.

  • It is easy to set up the keyboard the way you want it, which will always result in a better gaming experience.

  • Macros are a more complex version of the key. Macros take a little time to set up and it's better used for battle.

  • With the keyboard, sometimes you'll end up hitting the wrong buttons entirely if you're not used to working on a keyboard.

  • With the keyboard, if you play for numerous hours at a time, causing your hands to get sweaty and possibly cramp.  It's best to have a control pad with a built-in function for comfort, like rubber grips or maybe even AirFlo functionality.

  • With a controller, you're able to move around with ease and aim down iron sights by holding the left trigger button.  In contrast, with keyboard, there are times when you need more precision. This is where the keyboard and mouse come into play. You can pinpoint your shots better. Although the downfall comes with general movement, as your mouse might turn you around a little too quickly – but depending on the model that you're using.

  • A controller is great, it allows you to sit back, relax, and stick to basic gaming.

Lastly say, the keyboard and mouse are simply more accurate and provides a better experience in some game genres, and a gamepad better in other genres. Obviously, some games are better for one or the other, but our suggestion, play with what makes you feel the most comfortable. You can share your experiences with us in the comments. Thank you!
